My Husband is a seriously Disabled Veteran with Service Connected Disabilities.  Currently his life is at risk due to uncurable and untreatable "Cerebral Blockage" in his main arties of his brain.  He has already undergone heart surgery for 5 bypasses, two cancer removals and suffers from chronic PTSD. 

On December 10, 2014 he took my car to a nearby Midas shop to set a time for a complete check up and maintanence. Midas gave us an estimate for about $800.00 including tires, tuneup and oil/lube.  They also said we has a gasket leak that was about $350.00.

The appointment was for two weeks later January 2, 2015.  Because we needed to break the service into three dates because we are on limited income.  Midas said they could break the service into three dates.

They offered to drain the oil, refill it and they added a product caled "Lucas" which they claimed would treat the gasket leak?

14 Days later, the engine began to clang loud and on 1/16/15, Midas said the engine was "Terminal" and gave us a new estimate for $4,900.00

We called the dealer where we bought the car new, we contacted three auto mecahnics at differnt locations and all stated that the Lucas was a fatal mistake by Midas. Especially in our zero and sub-zero weather. 

The car was next inspected by the manager and long time employee at a local Jiffy Lube.  When he drained the oil that Midas had supposidley put in the car two weeks back on 1/2/15, it was water thin and jet black and he drained 6 quarts of whatever it was from a 4 cylendar engine. 

The report and samples caused greator suspiction.  Regardless, Midas has not come forth to handle the issue.  I have reported to them that if my husband has a stroke that cripples him or he dies from his Cerbral condition, because he us unable to get back and forth to the VA Hospital that I will hold them responsible,

Both my husband and I are disabled and my husband is 70 years old.  We cant afford $4,900.00 for a new engin on our low milage car that we bought new at the local dealership. 

Hopefully, Midas will become attentive to this "Time Sensative" issue.

Please see the attached from Midas.  It is the diagnoses cover sheet that clearly shows that the oil was clean in the GREEN and one quart over!  Question?  Midas drained this clean oil on their report and put in new oil and added Lucas on 1/2/15!  Fact:  The Oil Filter was NOT replaced and 14 days after the Oil Change, on January 16, 2015, the engine blew!

The Regional Manager for Midas Midwest Region is Bob King, the manager of the Midas shop that has been reported !!!

My husband contacted him today 2/12/15 and he has no compassion for the more than likey alleged responsibility for his shop ruining my cars engine.

He is hiding behind the skirt of Lynn Jakubowski at Liberty claiming that the issue is out of his hands.  So, it seems that Midas, Mr. Bob King and Liberties Lynn Jakubowski have little concern for human welfare, even a 70 year old disabled veteran over fixing the problem!

I will be campaigning to hand out notices and post them in public areas to warn citizens of our community. 

I will keep this complaint updated!

Commercial Insurance Claims

I smell Insurance Fraud.  And Lynn Jakubowski is at the wheel! 

After Midas lied on changing my cars oil filter, and said they drained my oil and added 3.8 quarts of 5-30 w/oil and a quart of "Lucas" which was their entire doing my car engine blew 14 days afterwards.

I had three auto mechanics and a Jiffy Lube expert oil drain and inspection that evidenced the oli filter had not been changed and the 14 day Midas oil was jet black and thin like water???

Lynn Jakubowski stated that she had investigated their Midas client and Midas was not liable! 

Fact:  The car was taken in for two new tires, tire rotaion, windshield wqipers, an oil change and lube. and tune up.  Due to the zero and subzero weather my husband asked about a mild ping that was not consistant. The Midas manager listened to the ping and without and furter diagnoses or tests, he stated an engine gasket was leaking??? 

On Jamuary 2, 2014, Midas recommended and stated they had serviced the car with the oil change, filter change and put the new oil in and added the Lucas to seal the alleged gasket leak until they could further repair the engine? 

On January 16, 2015 14 days later, the enggine blew??

Lynn Jakubowski refuses to honor the Midas liability and my 70 year old service connected disabled veteran husband nor I, have any transportation!  His health is serious and he is dying and needs medical care which he depended on our car to get to the VA Hospital. 

My WARNING is BEWARE of MIDAS and their insurance LIBERTY MUTUAL and lets not FORGET BOB KING the Midas Regional Manager!!!

I have request but not been given copies of Jakubowskis investigation and Midas emlpoyees statements?
