In August of 2008, I took my 2006 vehicle, purchased new in Dec. 2006, to Midas for a brake job. $400 later, I walked away thinking I had a lifetime guarantee.

In February, 2010, 18 months later, another independent mechanic, told me the front brakes needed replacing. I informed him we'd just done in in August, 2008, so he suggested we go back to Midas and have them check it out, as they should be warrantied.

Come to find out, our lifetime gaurantee we paid $400 for was actually a limited warranty. Midas will pay for the new brake pads, but it's another $220 for labor! What about the labor I paid 18 months ago?!?

This car was not in any accidents in the 18 months, and it is driven about 15k miles/year. I paid the $220 for the new brake job, and I will NEVER go back to this place.

Lifetime Warranties

Just an FYI - most places or companies who offer a "Life Time" Warranty, it is for the part ONLY....not labor.  I have purchased many a lifetime part or item and it is always understood that this is for the part only and after the first year or so there will be a charge.

Have a good day.
