I am writting this report after visiting this site from the request of my husband he has been a very loyal employee for well over 15 years for the mallard group in nevada who are the joint owners of a franchise group of the midas service center industry and i am hear to tell you the so call family orentated company that midas international tries to push off in the tv ads and the news pappers is bull sXXX my husband and i have been together for well over three years and i have yet to be impressed by what i see from this company.now pay really close attention to this next statement the techs that are working on your cars are known drug dealers or addicts or have a criminal record longer then the great mississippi and these are the people that you are trusting with you vehicle to work on or and you can all use your imagination about what happens if you leave you car in there care for longer then twenty four hors you should realy pay attention too you miles meeter before you drop your car off and after and i geuss you know the rest hell if you have a sports car i'd have it cleaned imedatly. and aouther thing the ase cert they advertise for all there shops dont hold your breath because yoou dont look good in blue you will be lucky if you get a tech with a high school diploma ok now lets get started on the equipment that is being used to feix your vehicles the lifts that raise your vehicles those are a joke they have been fixed and repaired so many times that it would be safer to put your vehicle on hand jacks in the parking lot at least i know my husband would come home to his family safetly and the alignment machine wow that a joke they have let former and still employeed techs that are lucky they can get dressed in the morning work onthese computers so they would not have to purchase updated equipment 9 talk about tweekers) and to boot the programs are from 1986 so if you have a vehicle 1987 0r higher your screwed and the tire machine that thing is so ancient that it is just not funny peice of personal advice if you need you tires changed or a spare replaced call triple a your safer the tanks they have for there pits they leak and through some creative midnight work from some former and still employed employees the epa cant detect this so if you live in sparks near prater way by bottled water
and the best part i fear this every day my husband goes to work the have welding tanks for welding exhaust to cars hey they leak bad so please i would like to keep being maried not a widow dont lite a match and i know there is only one person who is qualified at one shop to weld and im married to him ok onward and upward lets talk about manage managment this is funny they have a napa parts guy as a manager in sparks nevada this guy is such an idot that he makes a pile of playdoue look highly inteligent he tires to check all my husbands work when he is not so spun out of his mind that he has to run laps around the shop to calm down im not kidding ive seen it. he is showing every body the very large colection of guns that he has and brags that he would shoot any law enforcement that comes near his property wow can we say waco (and this is the guy who was arested for drugs and the company knows about hello big red truck is the law enforcement blind or just stupid) and his partner in crime another tech that works there will tell you how he knows several gang members that will take care of you if you cross his path and not agree with what he wants im tellin you this guy is off his rocker sparks pd has been at the shop because of him threating a coustomer and this is ok if thats true im a monkeys uncle. ok lets talk about how they treat there employees well they have to work a twelve our day from 7am to 6pm and heres the funny part they are suposed to get a lunch but dont count on it in question of my husband the other employees get first choice who have only been there three four months when my husband has been there 15 plus years and its a game of chance if the other tech comes back or not but the management oks this because he is realy good freinds with this tech because he has sold his son several automatic weapons if there legal dont know if he is legal to sell them that just scares the holy liveing hell out of me. now if you work for this company and have children dont think you will get any time with your kids for if you dont put your foot down they will work you like a god dam dog until you die and then tell your family that its not there problem that your loved one tied dont belive me look it up its all in black and white if you dont do what they ask cut corners lie for them and save them money at alll cost legal or not you are no good to them i know this for sure if you dont make them as much money as you can they will make sure your life is a living hell if you work for them and forget about doctors apptments for the employee or your family there insurance sucks does not carry in the state its issue the copays are carpayments and if you get injured on the job be ready for it because they are going to make every effort in the world possiable to make you feel that you are at falt not them i should know my husband hurt his shooulder and the compensation was not even enough to pay the electric bill so against medical advice for his family he went back to work but they did give him a managment postion that was no better he had more stress then before and to avoid being suied for what the techs were doing he had to double and triple check all of his work and waite for the customer to pick it up to ensure that it went to them with no extra problems if no what i mean and here is a good thing they would ask the techs to transport coustomers to and from there shops for there cars in there own personal vehicles and this is the bad part the drivers some of them have no liscienes or insurance and hell i know on two ocasions that the vehicles they were driving the customers in were stolen and geuss what if something goes wrong dont try suing midas because you were in a techs vehicle they are at fault not midas but under law its ielegal for this to happen because of insurrance reasons but does midas care hell no and as of today my husband and i are beging the first of a class action suite against midas for loss of pay because there manager his doctoring up all the papper work to scim the tills and my husband is doing all the work when his freind who is also works at the same shop gets payed for it and we have the papper work to prove it so this is the last of my statement if you have gone to the midas shops in reno sparks and have had a issue with a tech or managment please contact me we are two people taking on a very big company thank you

It's been over a year since Ldyangle's original report was filed and isn't it ironic that I would come across her report just one day after my husband and I had his truck serviced by the very same shop.  I feel compelled to tell everyone who may come across her report about our AWESOME experience with Midas in Sparks, NV.

I don't know if the problems Ldyangle describes were eliminated with her husband's management but we couldn't be more satisfied with every aspect of our recent Midas experience, from beginning to end.  Andrew, the new Midas manager, provided us with quality customer service; he gave us the impression that he truly cared about us and our need for a reliable, well-running vehicle.  He was very professional, extremely thorough and obviously an expert in his field....we couldn't be more satisfied AND the best part is that it didn't cost us an arm and leg.

Anyone in the Reno/Sparks area that is looking for a shop that they can count on for honesty and service excellence, as well as affordable repairs then Midas, on Prater in Sparks is where they should take their ride....I know in the future we'll never go anywhere else.

Thank you Midas, thank you Andrew and kudos to the Mallard Group!!!

P.S.  A note to Ldyangle:  As the wife of a (disgruntled) ex-manager who was fired, maybe you should spend your free time helping your husband work on his managerial skills....I mean, if any of what you say was actually going on while he was in charge then obviously the Mallard Group made the right decision in terminating his employment.  Also, since there are no other Ripoff Reports regarding this particular shop then as FL-USA indicated in his response, after reading your report, one would have to wonder who the true crack head/tweeker really is.

Yes it is true if you work for midas as a tech and are very unsure about a problem that has been brought to your attention you are given instruction to figure it out and get this there coolint flush machine is broke been broke for a while so if paid for a coolent flush under management orders they drained the coolent and just added more with out cleaning the residue out the same thing that would have been free if you did it in your own garage but it did not cost you $200.00 same goes for oil and transmistion so good luck

im sorry but i do not know enough about computers to edit my complaint to make it sound better if you wish to know more please email me i will give you all the info you may need along with osha irs dea atf and numerous news agencies along with my legal rep we have made aware of the issues in this company now im not saying all midas is like this but i will tell you this DO NOT GO TO ANY MIDAS IN NEVADA CALIFORNIA OR OREGON THAT IS OWNED BY THE MALLARD GROUP

now they are demanding every last peace of paper recipt that my husband has for the last 15 years to prove that he realy did pay for his tools for which the company refunds there techs for there tool because they have gotten wind that there has been a report filed with the better buisness bural for unfair work ethics in there company. way to go midas. i know dam well you dont do this with your other employees just the ones who care about the people who they take care of and that the only reason they are coming to midas is because of the few and i mean very few honest employees they have. be ready next update soon
