Complaint Review: MIDAS

 I'm senior citizen, not driving too much and changing oil in my car every three month. I started to use Midas Oil Change service in Palatine over one year ago. They provided very good service first two times. I had never waighted more than 20minites, including car inspection (lights, filters, air pressure in the tires, and wipers). I even recommended this place to my wife and she started use it as well. Last time I came to change oil in my car 04/06/2014. After 30 minites service mechanic came to me with oil plug in his hands. He show me pieces of foreign metal along threads on the plug. He told me that female threaded hole in the oil pen is damaged and I need to replace oil pen. He gave me Official Quote (R.O. #0125465) $499.96 for parts and laybor. He told me that today I need to pay additional for temprarly plug  $15.99 and schedule oil pen replacement. I told them that Midas must take responsobility for repair, because they only one who changing oil in my car and did damaged during previouse oil change. But service manager reject my request. I paid for oil change and temporarly oil plug $43.24 and left. (Invoice #0125465). One week later 04/12/2014 I went to car repair shop (AvtoMotorWorks) and change oil pen. I paied for repair $274.43. 

I think that MIDAS ripped me off and I paid my hard working money to fix their mistake.
