On July 9, 2011, my husband and I financed a black 2005 Nissan Maxima from Middletown Nissan. On the way home the transmission went and I was stranded on the highway. Nissan towed the car back and confirmed the transmission was no good. We had to go an entire week without a vehicle before Nissan "offered" another vehicle. Keep in mind this vehicle was three times the price of the previous vehicle and twice as long a pay off term. I wasn't too happy about this financed vehicle (especially considering what we had went through one week prior). I brought the car back to the dealership TWICE to complain about brakes, struts, shocks, tires and I was made to feel like my concerns were bogus. (Fast Forward). Thanksgiving, we traveled to Alpharetta GA and the electric circuit board shorted out, car smoked, engine over heated all on Thanksgiving night. I was horrified!!! We were stranded, I called numerous times to the dealer, left messages with the owner, no call back. I did speak to one gentlemen who seemed unapologetic considering the 60/90 day warranty had JUST passed (Jody Mitchell). I cried on voicemails, pleading for help because we were stranded; no luck with Middletown Nissan. After about $3,000 worth of repairs, we were told in confidence by one of the helpful associates at Regal Nissan in Roswell, GA that we should do everything possible to return this car. I wrote the BBB, the CT DMV, Middletown Nissan and we received a very sympathetic call from an associate at CT DMV who vowed to do all she could to help. Unfortunately there was only so much CT DMV could do considering the warranty had just expired. Since then it's been leaks, struts, axel, radiator, transmission, issues! This entire experience has been a huge nightmare. I really wish we had of NEVER done business with Middletown Nissan. This car has been a money pit. I hate to sound so harsh but I feel "xxxxx" with this deal. To make matters worse, the gentlemen that "sold" us the car, called us from a KIA dealership months later to try and solicit our business. He had apparently kept records of customer's info and was calling us to try and obtain our business. NO THANK YOU!!! It's sad when you can't feel GOOD about a purchase. I was also a victim in the Branford Mitsubishi case where salesmen were using social security numbers of unauthorized (even some dead people) persons, and contracting high pay off/balloon payments. So I expressed my need to feel good and trusting in this process with my salesman at Middletown Nissan and instead...I felt the complete opposite.
