Midland Credit Management False Credit Claim, Wrong account number San Diego California
Midland Credit Management, Inc. has recently claimed that I owe them 3, 782.66 . Their claim is that they have purchased the debt from Bank of America. However the account number does not match with my Bank of America credit card. While I did owe Bank of America money, I have not received a statement from them stating the amount I owed. I have received several letters from various companies stating that I owe money for an account that was never mine. What should I do to dispute this claim?

Google those very words for samples of how the letter should be written. Once they have done this that proves it's not yours, send them a cease communication letter. Google those terms also. Do not under any circumstances talk to them on the phone. They only will tell you that you owe the debt no natter how convincing you are that you don't owe it. Rview your credit reports to make sure they don't mess that up. You can obtain free ones on a yearly basis at annualcreditreport.com. Keep us posted.
