I was sent a letter stating i owed 2700.00 from an old Capital One card. This card was part a bk i had in 2003. this collection was removed from my credit file due to it being past seven years. I am concerned that this will show up eventhough 1. it is past seven years 2. part of my chapter 13 Bankruptcy. I left a voice mail stating this and returned a letter from thier office stating the above. This was sent on 2-15-08. called at 1230pm. These people a pure fraud I hope the Attorney General gets involved. thank you

I would not worry about it showing up on your Credit reports. I would keep an eye open, though because it has happened to others before.
If they do somehow weasel this debt on your report, you can take legal action against them.
It seems like this company is taking advantage of the time period where a lot of people are getting tax refunds. I mean, what an easy way to make a few bucks. Buy debt for pennies on the dollar that are way past Statute of Limitations and send out letters, hoping some suckers will be scared and willing to pay them off with their refunds.
Good luck with this. I highly recommend visiting some consumer oriented sites on the internet. You can find out valuable information about dealing with places like this.
