I received a letter stating that an Aspire Visa card was in default and the balance was around $9K. I did not have a credit card with this debt. I called the number and no one answered it was just hold music. I searched the web and found that this company was bad news. I faxed the letter to the number on the top and said to not contact me again. I never heard back. Months later after I sold my house, a neighbor called me saying a process server was there for me! This was just last week during Christmas week. I now received a letter (very generic) from the Law offices of Gerald A. Phillips in Reno, NV. The website looks generic and fake. No links are attached when you click on anything. The letter says "Good news" make us an offer on your debt. I had checked in July to see if this was on my credit and it was not. I am now very concerned that this is going to show up. I don't know what to do next. I did email the State of Nevada Financial Affairs and will be awaiting a return email.
