I've been contacted over the last year 3 times now regarding an old debt that I paid off over 4 years ago. I keep sending dispute letters to the attorneys I get the letters from and never get anything in return. About 3 months go by and then I get another attorney letter and a phone call or two (to which I reply I want correspondence by mail only and they stop calling).

I've read the FDCPA (Fair Debt Collection Practices Act) and Midland has broken several of the "rules" when they contacted me about this time last year. Not only have I paid the debt off (which appears to be a violation in itself), but they didn't send me any information within 5 days after the first phone call (another violation).

During that week of phone calls by Midland, I was cursed at, threatened, yelled at, and the employees even refused to let me talk to supervisors or give me their phone number and address (two or three more violations there). There are several more violations that are miniscule, but violations nonetheless.

My question is, if anyone knows, can/should I send a letter to Midland requesting they stop with the lawyers and point out their violations of the FDCPA? I have filed numerous complaints with the FTC, but nothing seems to have come from them.
