I recently received a phone call from some who claimed to be with Midland also part of a law firm Eskanos & Adler. They claimed to have served me with court papers, and claimed there was a judgment settled on a debt and I now owed it. The problem is they never served me with anything!

After obtaining all three copies of my credit report from each agency I was able to see all the information which made this happed. First of all, I had to send proof of my identification which took much longer (none of the agencies could verify my information at first). When I received my credit reports there was an address which appeared on my credit report - an address I have never resided (or even in the city). Midland claimed to have served me at this address, and even provided me with a DL# which was not mine.

I am disputing Midland's appearance as a debt on each of my credit reports and I am also disputing the incorrect address as well as the default judgment which now appears in my public records information. I plan to file as many reports as possible in order to get these people off my back and out of business - they are scum!

The debt they are attempting to collect is for a credit card which has passed the statute of limitations and yet they still continue to harrass me and ruin my credit. Everyone should file with as many agencies as possible to get these people out of business.

I too had problems with Midland, collecting (believe it or not) a bonafide debt. However, when I sent a letter to their office, with signature confirmation, the letter was returned, saying the forwarding order had expired! Needless to say, I sent copies of this returned letter to the three credit bureaus, and Midland's entry was removed.

Contact a consumer lawyer in your area, and file suit against Midland. You'll be glad you did!
