My mortgage was sold to Midland from Citi without my knowledge. I didn't find out for 18 months!!! I had been using a bi-weekly payment plan through Citi which was automatically drafted from my account. This auto payment continued throughout this time frame. The day I found out my mortgage had been switched to Midland I called them to update information. They informed me that for the last 18 months they have been receiving late payments. As a result of the late payment fees they have my mortgage 18 months behind!!! They never contacted me and have ruined my credit.  They refuse to change any of this. They have HORRIBLE customer service and zero compassion for their customers.

Im sorry but the selling of your loan is a common practice among banking institutes. So common in fact that sometimes ppl loose thier homes because they are paying the wrong ppl. Its unfortunate but you CAN NOT expect compassion. Its a business. You want them to play nice with you but the cant and wont. They dont care about your SOB story. It doesnt work that way. EVERYONE HAS A SOB STORY. Everyone thinks that THEY should be treated differently because of some tragedy in their life.

Now to address your issue. If your payments have been recorded as late, then one of the two companies dropped the ball. You should have been informed your loan has chaged hands. A different payment book should have been sent to you. A simple investigation by the banks regulatory agency will vindicate you. You may also get a small cut on your loan to make you happy. But you have to follow the process. Coming to a website to complain doesnt get you anywhere. You need to get both companies to start investigating your situation. This is obviously a mistake on their end. You shouldnt have to pay for what is in essence a proceedural error. The sooner a investigation is started the sooner it gets resolved.

Now for your end.... Dont be a a*s. The ppl you will be talking to HAVE NO DIRECT CONNECTION TO YOUR PROBLEM. They only work for the company. Dont take your frustration out on ppl you want to help you. Be polite. Lastly, GET A ATTORNEY!!!!! This can resolve this situation quickly and it will cost less then making all the "Missed or late" payments.
