For the first time in my life, I downloaded a copy of my credit report from Experian.  I was alarmed to see that on a monthly basis for the past few months, Midnight Velvet, Seventh Avenue, and Swiss Colony had been requesting my credit history/information.

This is alarming because: I have NEVER purchased anything from any of them.  I have NEVER applied for a credit card with any of them.  I have not applied for employment with them nor do I even live in the same state as they do business.  Furthermore, I have NEVER even heard of them so why should they be seeking my credit history???

According to the FTC, companies should only be allowed a access to a person's credit history if they have a valid reason for needing it: i.e. credit card application, insurance application, employment application.  In my case, NONE of these exist.  I have filed a complaint with the FTC and hope that in short order, some savvy, diligent attorney will file a class action lawsuit against them and kick their *****'s out of business !
