I have a 65 yr old Male friend that has had 2 hip replacement surgeries and is going to need a knee replacement surgery soon. He got conned into going to a "Tent Sale" for Midway Chevy on Feb 17th, 06. They called him because he was interested in a Nissan Sportscar. They baited him and got him to the lot then said they didn't have the car they had just called him about.

He had forgotten his reading glasses (and can't see anything without them). This man limps and is in a lot of pain, anyone with eyes can see this.

The used car sales manager talked my friend into buying a car 1 year OLDER than the car he had for trade, and it was a Cadillac STICK SHIFT CTS. Repeatedly, my friend asked for his keys to his own car back from the sales manager, and they were not returned. They didn't want to give him the opportunity to willingly leave the lot before they ripped him off and sold him a car he can't even drive! Oh, did I fail to mention, my friend will say YES to anyone? He will do anything for anyone also, which is why he is a used car salesman's wet dream of a client!

They took his 2005 Altima (with $2000 custom rims and tires) as a trade on a 2004 Cadillac CTS. The paperwork that he showed me 3 days later stated that he purchased a 2005 Cadillac DeVille. They didn't even get the VIN # right on his contract! He had purchased a car he had never seen!

When we took the car back yesterday afternoon, I had spoken with a representative from Triple AAA, he had told me we had a leg to stand on, that the dealership could not just "switch the VIN #" as they had stated on the phone to me, right before they hung up on me, as this was illegal. The used car sales manager asked me if I was a lawyer and I said "No". He promptly kicked me off of his car lot telling me if I didn't leave immediately he'd press charges for tresspassing!!! (Just because I knew what I was talking about, he didn't want me in on the conversation). This man was an incredible a**!!!!!

I called my friend, he said that finally the sales manager had realized that he had to make this right, so he sold my friend a 2006 Altima for the same price and monthly payment that he would have been spending on the 2004 Cadillac. (So now, at the end of it all, he is paying $50.00 MORE a month for a car that was identical to the car he originally traded in!!!!!)

The sales staff at the Used Car Store at Midway Nissan, Chevy and whatever else they sell, are RUDE, Demeaning, Patronizing, Incessant, Pushy, Lying, Sneaky, Two Faced, Angry Pricks that will say anything or do anything to get a sale. Even if it means pushing a little old man with 2 hip replacement surgeries into a STICK SHIFT car!!! How utterly ridiculous!

Update on Rims and Tire RIP OFF!

#2Author of original report

Wed, February 22, 2006

I just talked to my friend, and as of this morning, Midway is not giving him back his old rims and tires. So, he's out $2000.00 for those and he has had to put $2000.00 down on his new car. They also reworked the deal, meaning the Cadillac was taken out of the equation and they added a trade in 2005 Altima for a New 2006 Altima. He is $4000.00 in the hole so he can drive the same car he had last Thursday, except it is a year newer. They would do anything to NOT give him back his original car that he traded in.

So, his payment is not as high as he originally told me, but it is still more than what he was paying. At least he got something good out of the deal, but BUYER BEWARE! Stay away from Car Lots! Contact dealers over the internet or phoen through a third trusted company, they will search for the specific car you want, bring it right to your house to test drive it and sell it to you without all the bs that dealerships put you through! They will tell you the exact price you will pay for the car and options you are looking for and even sell it to you directly, you just tell them which local dealership you would like to pick it up from. That way, you can also avoid the bs...

BE CAREFUL when dealing with Car Dealerships! They will always do what is best for THEM not YOU, the BUYER. ps YOU know someone that works at that dealership is going to be driving around on his rims and tires!!!
