Midwest Auto Recycling Mis-represented used engine, refuse to provide documentation Cudahy Wisconsin
I, too, have recently been scammed(screwed) buy Midwest Auto Recycling.
I should have know better, during the process leading up to the actual purchase, it was extremely difficult to get anyone at Midwest to answer pertinent questions, such as: how many VERIFY-ABLE mile on on this engine, compression test results, etc... but like an idiot I trusted them, resulting in me writing this complaint now. I was told directly by a person in the Midwest Auto Recycling parts department, and I quote "the Carfax shows 6000 mile on the engine(car), but I know when WE received the car it had 31000 miles on it. Interesting, because when the engine finally did ship 10 days later, the tracking number showed that the engine was shipped from Pennsylvania, which if I remember correctly, is not even remotely close to Cudahy, Wis.
Meaning, of course, when the parts person told me "when WE got it in......", he was flat-out lying to me, the car was in reality several states away.
Also, no information that was promised was provided, No Carfax, nothing. I requested a copy of the Carfax prior to purchase, but they refused, and now I see why. The compression was quoted to me (via email, fortunately, so I have proof of that statement) at 210-220. My mechanic checked the compression on all cylinders, best was 125, and down from there.
HEADS UP!!! Take your business elswhere, unless you have money to throw away. Nothing but a ripoff, sarcastic sales and parts personal (I have emails to back that statement up), there are plenty of other salvage yards in the midwest, avoid this one at all costs!!!
