I was called in to interview for what I was told on the phone owuld be a customer service position with a salary range beginning at $34,000 per year. I had trouble finding the office (the sign in front of the office building does not include the name of this company), and when I did find it, I noticed that while the sign on the door said "Midwest Marketing Concepts", the sign inside the lobby said "GC Imports". Having nearly been taken in by other "multi-level marketing" situations (in other words, pyramid scams) in the past, I was already wary, but hoped to be proven wrong, I was taken into an office for an "interview" that lasted only a few minutes, and included only a few very basic questions. I asked a few questions of my own, but the interviewer was reluctant to give precise answers, especially when I asked for more details about the pay scale. When I asked her how much the job paid, she asked, "How much do you want to make?" I asked for confirmation of a range, and she said $35,000. When I asked if this was a commission job, she said that it could be, if I chose commission instead of a regular salary. I asked how the commission scale worked, an she told me that this information could only be disclosed in the second interview! I've encountered this kind of company before- they entice you with offers of a job in "marketing" or "customer service", and refuse to tell you until the "second interview" that it's really a crappy sales job. If it's an outside sales job, just call it an outside sales job- don't waste my time with your lies!

Do a search for Midwest marketing concepts and gq imports on here and read what the second interview consists of. Outside sales are literally outside selling. They won't tell you what the job is really like until they've got you miles from your car.
