Migration Expert Defrauding Travellers Melbourne Other
If you are travelling to Australia from the US, you need a Visa/ETA.
When you go onto google and type in "Travle to Australia, Visa" the first website that comes up states:
"Online VISA Australia - Us Residents" It links you to a website that states: "Electronic Travel Authority to Australia" and then asks you for your relevant Passport and other data.
The process does not take long and, to complete the online Visa/ETA process, you need to pay $39.00 US per ETA. I later came to find out that the Australian Governement has its own website for this and the cost is $20.00 AU for each ETA. I contacted the number on the email confirmation I received and got Migration Expert. I demanded to know why they charged me a 120% premium to get a simple online Visa. They said, "We charge this amount because we provide you with a valuable travel brochure." It ends up, this is a 30 page pdf document that summrizes the Australia tourist bureau website information.
They refused to provide me with a refund.
Now that we are closing in on our travel window, we cannot risk not having travel Visas, so I cannot put a stop payment on the credit card.
This is clearly a scam run out of Melbourne to bilk tourists who do not know the specifcs of what is required to travle to Australia.
