Mike Clift ripoff Cookeville Tennessee
If you ever need an attorney do not use Mike Clift. He is only an attorney to monetaryily line his pocket. I hired him to represent me in a divorce case. We have four children. The case took nearly 2 years to settle and $15,000. to Mr. Clift.
The day before we went to court which was on a Monday he called me at home to ask me to accept a proposal that I told him I did not want to accept. He presured me in to accepting telling me that it could be changed later.
When we got to court the next day I told him that I had decided I did not want to accept the proposal he told me that if I did not accept the proposal he would have to have alot more money.
He had already drained my savings account so I had to go ahead. When the proposal was presented to the Judge it was nothing like what had been discussed with me by Mr. Clift. To further complicate things he did not even have my file in the court room.
The attorney that represented my x-husband was a Judge in the same county so I am sure Mr. Clift felt this might present a problem if he ever had to go to court with this Judge in the furture.
Since this I have changed attorney's just wishing that I had never used Mr. Clift and very proud of the actions my current attorney has made for me.

Just finished a domestics relation case, and Mike Clift was my attorney. He was referred by several other lawyers as "the best divorce attorney around". I must say, Mr. Clift was, indeed, a great attorney and advocate for me and my family. Mr. Clift was always prepared, had extreme knowledge of the law, and gave me legal options to my case. We eventually did go to court and won a big victory for my side of the case! Divorce is an emotional procedure, and sometimes people are dissatisified with the outcome and blame it on the lawyer, their spouse etc. Mike Clift is the best, and I have referred several others his way...all have been pleased and very satisfied with his council and his representation.

Your report does not contained enough specifics to be of any assistance to consumers. It's not uncommon for divorces to be long and expensive. What was wrong with the proposal that your previous lawyer recommended? How much more money did he want? What does your new attorney say that the old attorney did wrong?
