Mike Diamond Plumbing The smell good plumber Three prices for 1 job none of which specified what would be done Garden Grove, California
The smell good plumber came out and I thought it would be $99. He gave me a bid that had 3 prices on the same sheet of paper none of which specified what exactly I would receive. The first bid was $2400 the next $1800 the last $1400 plus parts. I told him I would think about it. He wanted to sell a mainline cleanout installation before it could be rooted. I had been rooting it annually for years for about $35 rooter rental but I'm getting old and $99 was better than a heart attack. A local plumber put in the mainline cleanout for $600 including rooting. Now I can root it myself and not worry too much.
I am writing because he did my elderly neighbor for about $2600. $350 for a Video inspection, $80 for an inspection permit which was never done and the rest for the "Job". The parts cost about $80. She speaks little English and is a widow over 80 years was frightened and is frail. This woman was victimized. Beware

Good job avoiding the direct rip off, it's too bad your neighbor didn't have you there to help her. The talking back and forth between neighbors and friends is what keeps the wolves at bay. Kind of like turning the light on and watching the cockroaches scatter. TheSmellGoodPlumberStinks may help do this too.
