Puppy mill breeder and scammer/liar/crimina, Mike Gann, or so thats the name he went by, lived at address: 60 Yahweh Lane, Patrick Springs, VA 24133 in 2012.  I found an add placed by him and his business partner at the time, Jeana Lam, for stud service to breed my female french bulldog.  I paid this scammer/liar $500.00 to breed my female french bulldog to one of his studs.  When I arrived at the address: 60 Yahweh Lane, Patrick Springs, VA 24133, I was skeptical because the place was run down and there were kids and dogs running all over.  When he showed me the stud he was offering for stud service it was completely differnt than the stud he and his business partner had on their advertisement.  I was very skeptical and felt in my gut that this was a bad decision but I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt.  He took my $500.00 and I left my french bulldog with him to breed.  He was very cunning and friendly and appeared to be an honest  person in the conversations and text/email messages he relayed.  I picked up my female french bulldog from this man and went on my way.

On the way home I discovered she was riddled with fleas and was very dirty.  He said she stayed in the house with him and actually slept in his bed...I guess he has fleas too!  We conversed and exchanged many emails and text messages while during the gestation.  He offered advice and gloated about all his knowledge and spoke of some french bulldog mentor...very strange!  He offered to take her to his vet to get a C-section prior to her due date.  I was skeptical because I didnt fully trust him with a lot of bs he was saying all along.  I didnt trust him and thought he would lie and likely steal some or all of the puppies and not tell me.  She eventually delivered C-section at my vet's office.  When the puppies were born he said they were so rare and worth up to 6 to 8 thousand dollars, blah blah, blah.  I wasnt trying to get rich I was actually hoping to get a cream colored frenchie to keep and sell the others locally...one to my vet as she offered a reasonable price.  He asked me numerous times to bring the puppies to him and that he would sell them for me as he reported he had all many interested buyers etc....turned out to be a complete lie.  I took the puppies to him at about 9 weeks of age.  He raved about how perfect they were and began reporting all the deals he was going to make for me....that went of for about 2 months...nothing was sold reportedly.  I told him numerous times although it was about a 5 hour drive to him I would come get them as I felt it was too much trouble for him. He continued to tell me they were not a problem and he didnt mind.  He eventually said he was going to take a couple of them to a pet store in Roanoake, VA to sell as he reportedly knew the owner and she was going to help him sell the puppies. He then later reported one puppy had some crazy intestinal prolapse and it required me to wire him money to pay for the surgery.

So I did send the money...the money was sent to Jeana Lam, his business partner as he reportedly lost all his identification could not pick up the money without an ID.  Probably another lie.  Then he reported one had cherry eye and he could sell it to some police officer and his wife in greensboro, NC, I believe but instead of the thousands of dollars he originally boasted about he said he could only get $500.00.  I asked him to send me a picture of the dog's reported cherry eye but he didnt respond and then later said, he had already delivered the dog and was unable to get  a picture of the imperfection.  So, trusting him very reluctantly he wired me money from a name, John Herbert?  Not sure if that is another alias or the person who bought the dog?  Then he said he took another of the four puppies to the same pet store in Roanoake, VA, and it said it was under contract to be paid off in a month by a family that was going to buy the puppy.  The price he stated was to be $1,100.00.

The month came and went and another and another with excuses every day but never any money or report of sale.  In the mean time, he text messaged me and reported that the two remaining puppies he had were now very ill.  He reported it was likely parvo.  He asked if I could come immediately to pick them up.  I told him that it was a long drive and that I wasnt able to come the next day and that if his vet could look at them to do so and we would determine the best action to take according to the vet and in the next day or so I would come to get the puppies.  He reported he was then busy moving all his dogs in the house to North Carolina as he feared they would catch it. He reported he was having the vet come to the house to assess the puppies the next day and he would inform me of the diagnosis.  The next day came and he was unavailable and non-responsive.  He then did respond and told me the vet never came but the puppies both died that day.  I asked him to send me a picture of the deceased puppies for proof as again it was very suspect.  He sent me pictures of very healthy puppies.  I again asked for pictures of the deceased puppies and he again did not respond for hours.  When he did reply he said he didnt get my text message and that he disposed of them in a dumpster already.  I asked him if he could go to the dumpster to get a picture as I wanted proof.  He became very verbally aggressive and defensive and reported he was not going to any dumpster to get pictures for me as it was my problem if I didnt trust him, blah blah, blah.  He said he felt bad and even offered to rectify the situation as the puppies reportedly got sick in his care.  He offerd a future puppy or payment.  I said I expected something and that we could agree on something.  That was the last I heard from him.  He changed his phone numbers and would not respond to any emails.  He has not responded or offered anything further.  Then I called all the pest stores in Roanoake, VA and they reported they did not know of any Mike Gann they said the description of the puppies he reportedly took to the pet store were never there and actually they only had one or two in the whole year and they were different color than the puppies I described.  So that was obviously a lie all along as well.  I spoke to his prior business partner, Jeana Lam, about my inability to contact Mike Gann and told her what happened.  She said she became uncomfortable with his business practice also and had since distanced herself from him.  She did report that she had spoken to a family member and they reported he was very ill and may not live as he was diagnosed with stage three kidney failure.  Very possible a lie as obviously everything else he said was a lie as well.

This all happened in the Winter/Spring of 2012.  I have not had the energy or fortitude to even pursue this mess but feel this is a crime and have considered filing charges.  I know others have posted articles about this man as well and his shady deals.  Anyone else who has been scammed by this unethical, liar should also post an add.  If anyone would like to discuss similar bad faith deals/business practice experinces he has scammed you on please post and we will be in touch.  Its a shame there has to be criminals like this out there.
