Mike Hodgkinson Paving Driveway Teardown and replace Cliton Park, New York
2 years ago we were in dire need of getting our driveway repaved. It had numerous sunken spots, cracks and broken pieces. Mike Hodgkinson Paving was in my housing track doing some resurfacing for some nieghbors and we asked for an estimate. Mike gave us an estimate and although it seemed a little bit higher than one I had gotten from another company his warranty and description of the procedure was far better. The job was to do an entire tear-out of the exsiting driveway, repack, level and resurface. They started the next day and by the time I had gotten home from work the job was just finishing up. A few days later it rained..the driveway had small ponds in it and the slope was allowing all the water to flow under my garage door and into the garage(thank God I have a center drain).
I called Mike to come take a look and fix whatever needed to get fixed. After NUMEROUS phone calls I was told Mike had gotten into a motorcycle accident and his business was on hold. After sending out a letter (recommended by my attorney) I was told the Rochester Paving (his brother) could honor the warranty and fix the driveway. We set up a date for him to come and take a look and decide the best course of action. To my surprise when I got home a few days later they had paved over the sucken spots with more asphalt and considered the job done and finished. Now the drive is REAL thick, and has an even worse pitch than before. When I called to complain I was told thats the best they could do and it was done as a favor for his brother. Since then the business has changed names numerous times and gone under numerous titles, either way they are still ripping people off. I heard from another paving contractor that they had been investigated a while back for scamming people and are still currently doing the same thing..They have brand new white ford f-250 trucks and are refered to as the gypsys by other paving companies. I hear they are currently working under another name in the Victor,NY area so beware..
