True Ripoff. My friends Blazer overheated and she took it right into the garage and they told her she needed an intake gasket replaced. However they never looked at it until I insisted that they look it over and show me the leak.

The mechanic hooked up the compressor to the radiator hose and pressurized it to show the leak. It blew out like a stream. I asked why it would have only overheated once if the leak was that bad. He said it wasn't that bad, he over pressurized it so it would show the leak better.

Wow, the gut was an idiot. I know that over pressurizing it will cause it to leak where there were no signs of leaking prior to the test he did. Still she had them do the work for $431.00. Several days later she called to check on the truck. They told her it was now skipping and it must have been that way. Fact- No it was not! The mechanic messed up the hoses in the transmission when he reassembled it putting in the intake gasket. However he did not own up to it. They told her they fixed it again and she picked up the truck.

Same day at gas station the truck did not start. They towed it to their garage. They told her it was the starter. Weird since it did not have an issue until they worked on it. They replaced the starter for another $350. She again got the truck back but complained about price of another repair that she had to pay. The owner told her she was lucky they did not charge her for the tow job. She asked for the old starter and they told her they had just taken it back for core charge. It did not look replaced at all.

She took the truck home and drove it to get her son at school. The truck would not start and someone at the school jump started it easily. She went back to the garage again. They told her she needed a new battery, but not to worry it was under warranty where she had it replaced a few months prior with them. The mechanic also told her that it was the lines in the transmission that were messed up from the original repair. They will fix it at no cost at this point in time. However they will not refund any amount to her for poking and hoping they can fix it!
