Complaint Review: Mike's Auto Service

Well, if you're into highway robbery then check out Mike's in Somerville. This guy and his staff were both unprofessional and downright rude when my pregnant fiance and I had our vehicle towed to their shop last week. We were initially quoted an insanely high price 1,200+ to replace a common and very easily installed part which was soon quoted at (3) other shops under $500 including parts and labor. Then, when we decided to seek help elsewhere, Mike himself refused to release my fiances vehicle without us taking care of a $200 diagnostic fee which was neither authorized nor discussed prior to AAA taking the car over there. My fiance and I were treated with fits of anger at our non-compliance and were exposed to days of undue stress on behalf of Mike's auto. They were clearly trying to take advantage of newcomers to the neighborhood and took every opportunity to berate us for seeking another opinion. What's worse was the fact that my pregnant fiance had to deal with such aggressive, rude an unprofessional people in her first months in Boston. We were looking for an easy and honest place to fix our vehicle and instead we got lesson in conscious consumerism. I would recommend anyone contemplating using Mike's auto to read this again and rethink your options.
