We purchased a new Forest River Georgetown RV from Mike Thompson RV in Colton.  While the purchase was handled professionally the delivery and there after has been a mess.

We were given the usual instruction on all the various parts of our new purchase, how this worked and how to turn this on and etc.  After the completion of the 2 hour instruction we went over the motorhome with the finance manager and point out things that need assistance - paint, storage doors on the outside that did not lock, bent doors and etc.  No show stoppers but things that should have been caught in the two weeks that they were getting the Motorhome ready.

The sales manager asks if we would like to "leave" it and they will get on it first thing Monday morning or would we prefer to take it home and then bring it back with a "punch" list of repair items.  Well, with all the excitement of a new motorhome, we elected to "take it home with us" and come back in a week.

Well let me warn you don't ever do that.  It has now been two weeks and we just received an up-date from the service department - it may take another two weeks.

If Mike Thompson wants happy customers then they sure have not made one here.  This is a brand new 2012 motorhome and it will be in the shop for a month.

Do you think that if we had left without it, it would still be sitting there "waiting on parts"?

Never leave unless you are 100% satisfied with all aspects of your purchase.  Do not beleive that since you have just paid some very big bucks for a product that anyone at Mike Thompson RV cares.

They do not - stay away from this dealer.  They sell you and then drop you like flies on you know what!

Once you sign the deal and give them money, you've lost all bargaining power. If they are an integrity driven store then they don't want junk on the lot. Therefore you are doing them a favor pointing out the defects whether or not you end up being the buyer. If they don't care about the customer then they will give you some crap they will only fix it if you agree to buy. But Coast does make an excellent point...if this thing was brand new why are there all these problems?

Weren't you skeptical about a "brand new" vehicle that needed maintenance prior to purchase? What took two weeks to get the "brand new" motorhome ready?
