Complaint Review: Mike Thompson RV

Buyers beware of the shady sales tactics and practices going on at Mike Thompson RV & Trailer sales in Fountain Valley CA 92708.

Before we even began the sales process the salesman asked what finance option we were going to use, we told him cash and he questioned the fact that we had cash to buy a trailer (Strike One)

In the office, the sales process and the salesman asked what I was willing to pay for the trailer. I gave him a number then he asked that I write him a check or give him some cash as a good Faith (Unheard of from my perspective).

After I gave him the number he came stating that "I Win", you got it, however the "I Win Price" and the "I got you your Number Price" was quite a bit more than what I had originally asked as my CASH PRICE. Again, I said this is my price and he left. (Strike Two)

The sales guy came back and said that if I gave him my CASH price now the trailer was mine. I asked him to restate what he said and he said that if I gave him the CASH price for the trailer it was mine. I said please go get your manager, he said don't worry.

I restated to him what he told me about the cash price and he said yes, if I gave him the CASH right now the trailer was mine. He even brought over the "LAW FORM" and everything to begin the title process and he even stated the trailer could not be taken home tonight, but give them about 5 days to get it ready.

I cut him a check for the CASH price, told the wife and kids we just got a new trailer. The sales manager walks out thinking that he was going to congratulate me on my new trailer, however begins to tell me that I was just giving them a Good Faith offer by writing them a legal tender check, signed and endorsed for the FULL AMOUNT of the NEW TRAILER. He proceeded to tell me that he could not honor the deal because they would Lose Money on the deal. (Strike Three)

Run, Run, and Run as far away from these unscrupulous sales tactics. Never buy a thing from Mike Thompson RV.
