Miles Shumilak miles.sandiego Preys on new bands/artists promising magazine article only requiring $25 processing fee but no product granted San Diego, California
As a manager for a newborn band, it's tricky to find good promoters. I want everyone who is in the same search to understand that "The List" Magazine is a scam and Miles Shumilak, the owner/producer/editor is a fake. You will go through a discussion that sounds good with responses from a live person, maybe even a phone call. But once all the information is passed along, there's a "conveniently forgotten" processing fee of "only" $25. Dues they may be, happily paid for when you get something in return. A something we did not receive after 4 months of waiting.
Miles Shumilak did not provide a response to numerous attempts for more information. He did not reply to any request for refund.
He has been doing this long enough to know the loop holes, for example using PayPal as a comfort to his prey, a security feature, when in reality you can't dispute a transaction with a service. So, really, there is no consequence if he does not produce for you and no representation for you.
Everyone who has been scammed, please go to the bottom of his dreadful website and click on "Report Abuse." Google hosted websites have to play by the rules, and we as consumers, artists and community have the power to report his actions as they are: a scam. So please, take the time to fill it out and hopefully Google will be able to shut him down.
Even temporarily, it would be a victory for his victims.
