My husband and I were almost ripped off by these loosers. Thanks to this website we will be sure not to deal with Mini Vacations Inc. ever again.

We received a 3 day 2 night vacation free for allowing an in home demonstration of a Vaccuum. When my husband called to activate our vacation and receive our vacation planning kit they asked him for a credit card number. He told them he wasn't going to give our credit card since this was suppose to be a free vacation. He went ahead and gave our mailing address in order to receive the planning kit.

One month later we still have not recieved the kit. He called again today and they asked for the credit card number again. He told them no and they said he would have to speak to someone in customer service. I found their website, if you go to yahoo and type in mini vacations inc. it will come up. It does give some numbers, but I'm sure this is one of those scams where you can eventually get your money but it is almost more trouble than it is worth.

NOTE: Rip-off Report launched a complete investigation on this particular situation and found that Mini Vacations had no control over promises another company makes when marketing their vacation coupons. Even though Mini Vacations is not responsible for another company's actions, they have been giving FULL refunds to anyone who has contacted them, and has even given more than they should have in the name of good customer service

Hotels Require Credit Cards fo Check-in

#2REBUTTAL Owner of company

Fri, July 25, 2003

Niki,

I do not understand your complaint. You received for free a vacation certificate for hotel accommodations that is fulfilled by our company. The terms and conditions of the certificate you received state clearly that a major credit card is required for check-in by the hotel and resorts that provide accommodations for this program. This is required for protection of the hotels in the event that a guest vandalizes a room or steals property from the hotel, although this is rare.

When you registered your vacation certirficate with our company, you did not have to provide your credit card number - only the type of credit card you would be using while traveling. There is nothing to risk in giving this information out and I hope you will consider retracting your complaint.

If you need any questions answered about how to get your vacation reservations underway, please call our VIP Customer Service Department at (800) 566-8281.

Thank you.
