Mini Vacations / MVI Marketing Rip off company canceled our cruise and promised to refund our $571.88. No refund, no response, no recourse. Tampa Florida
Sent MVI a check for $271.88 for a cruise on Carnival Triumph departing Jan 21, 2006. On Nov. 7, 2005 received a letter informing us that the trip was unavailable and we can request a refund, which we did.
After numerous phone calls and bogus responses we finally found out in Feb. 2006 that this company is out of business.
It is my understanding that many senior citizens have lost substantial amounts of money and that Michael Burke, the president of the company, is no where to be found. The division of Consumer Affairs in Florida has notified us that they are unable to recover any funds since the company did not have to post any financial security.
To us this appears to be a major fraud where innocent people have lost their hard earned money and the owner walks away with no recourse. Welcome to another act of Corporate Greed.
