Mirage Pools only a Mirage

The promise was that we would have a pool in 'worst case' three months. Perfect! This is the first week of July and the pool will surely be finished in time for our family reunion in November. We signed the contract and wrote them a check for $6,500 to get things started.

A day or two later, the Mirage team pulled up to our house. That same day the first tropical storm/hurricane was pulling up as well. They proceeded to tell us that digging during a monsoon wouldn't cause any problems, and so it began.

Shortly after they left and about 20 bands of squalls had passed, we started hearing the collapse of our 'ponds' walls. Splash! Splash! Huge chunks of the sides of our new pond are falling in. Now we have a small lake. We leave a message with Mirage that our lake is growing and extremely close to our house.

The only action for an extended amount of time following the dig was more of the lakes sides falling in. Soon the house foundation is showing, and shortly after the lake is under our deck and we're looking at 3 feet of our foundation hanging over the water.

Mirage managed to send a worker out to offer his expert advice which was "wow, that is bad" and then proceeded to tell us that his boss likes to "dig the holes right away so he can cash the checks, then leaves everyone hanging forever".

Yep, we're in trouble. So we call daily, sometimes 3 times a day mostly getting the answer machine. We get lucky and talk to the "office guy" once in awhile, one time even the owner. We ask them to fill it back in but they remind us that we signed a contract. Somehow a small flame has been lit and in a span of 2 months, they manage to get Step One completed ~ the frame.

Inspection time. Mirage finally decides to clean up their hazards. After months of having to tip-toe around our front and back yard, Mirage picked up SOME of the scattered rebar, large chips of pvc pipe, raw edged wire mesh pieces and other hazards thrown about. City comes out, laughs, fails them in three areas. The city is concerned about our NOW lakeside house and its overhanging foundation and sends out an engineer.

That was three weeks ago and nothing has changed since, other than a few more inches of the house foundation showing. We don't want the pool anymore, at least from that 'company'. The work that we were told would be finished by "week two" hasn't even been completed yet. It's awful. Can only imagine the troubles we're going to have with the pool if it ever does get completed.

I had the dis-pleasure of working for Mirage in 2004. The owner David could care less about your situation or anybody for that matter.

In the short 3 months I was with Mirage I found approx. 95% of their clients were angry and would never refer Mirage to build a dog house much less a swimming pool.

My advice to you is to contact the Attorney Generals office and file a complaint. along with the state license board.

I am quite sure that if you are able to contact other customers of Mirage your class action suite should be a success.

I have a list of names that you can contact if necessary. After 3 months I told David to stick this job right up his a**! There is not enough money in the world to work for a crook Like David and Mirage Pools
