Complaint Review: Mirage Siberians

• Definition of Defamation of Character is as follows - Defamation of character occurs when someone makes a false statement about you that causes you some type of harm. The statement must be published (meaning some third party must have heard it), false, and it must result in harm, usually to the reputation.
  
  

In reply that I made a post as you have stated yes I did, however I would have had to make a "FALSE" statement about what was said.  I did not.

• You personally have and are currently making false statements, qualifying you as Defamation of Character against me.

I have not bred a litter in 9 months, and do not currently have anything on the way.  What ACTUALLY happened was that I saw a post you made on a Facebook group saying you were looking for a puppy within two hours of your location.  Trying to be helpful, I wrote you and informed you that I show in the area, and could help to REFER you to another breeder that also shows their dogs in AKC Conformation events.  So that is what I did.  I started a group chat between myself you and the other breeder.  The other breeder made you aware at the VERY beginning of the communication that she MAY have the puppy available to a show home. (The reason for this was that she was waiting on an established show home to let her know if she was interested in purchasing the puppy to show at the time) You quickly informed us that the puppy was not "Red Enough" to which we were both taken aback as all colors and markings are accepted per our breed standard with AKC.

  All colors from black to pure white are allowed. A variety of markings on the head is common, including many striking patterns not found in other breeds.

You then sent us a picture of the colors acceptable in the siberian which include Red.  So again we questioned why you sent it and what exactly you were showing us as it showed Red as an acceptible color.  The winningest siberian female of all time is a light red and white, just like the puppy you saw the picture of.  You may be unaware of that seeing as you are new to showing in conformation and just looking to get started in that venue.  I have a light red and white AKC Grand Champion male that completed his Championship at just over a year old.  His Grand was finished at a little over 2.  I have never personally sold a red to a show home as when they are show quality I tend to keep them.  It is one of my favorite colors.  Our reactions were not in response to you not wanting the puppy or liking the color, it was that you stated it was unacceptible in the breed.  So we tried to educate you on that point.

At this point you then began to get very rude and hostile.  The puppy was never offered to you, it was shown to you as a possibility.  You would have had to go through extensive screening, home check, and sign a lengthy contract in order to purchase the puppy IF you were approved.  Again not my puppy; however there was noone upset at you not purchasing a puppy that wasn't even available at the time, nor were you approved to purchase it.  We both offered to help you in any way we could to educate you on the breed, and showing in AKC.  I will admit that I may have been a little curt and blunt at some points in our conversation after you started attacking my character. 

You did start trying to educate me on what is right and correct for our breed.  The girl you showed a picture of is pet quality.  She is not AKC show quality.  I have been showing and breeding and finishing champions in AKC for years.  I have helped multiple new people start off showing in Siberians.  Providing them a quality puppy that was easily finished, or refering them elsewhere to get a quality puppy.  Past that helping them navigate the shows, teaching them about structure and movement.  There is more to a conformation dog than being "cute"  They have to conform to specfic standards in movement, structure, breed type, temperament, etc.

I again do not know who is helping you, that's not my business.  Hopefully you will be able to find someone that is knowledgeable about the breed that has bred, shown, and completed AKC Conformation Champions to help you in the future.

You are upset as I made a post warning people of how I was treated and of what you truthfully said.  The only reason to be upset is that I am respected in AKC among my peers, and they trust what I say.  

The name of the other breeder has been blacked out in my pictures as she is not being attacked, and that is her business to tell should she wish to do so.  You did inform us after the last picture uploaded that your girl was a Champion, but you did not state which venu that was in, as it was not in AKC.  AKC Quality standards are strict as you mentioned several times, just not in regards to color.  Having owned/Bred an AKC Grand Champion that is this shade of red, and having bred to Reserve best in show, Best in Specialty show AKC Grand Champions I can say that this is not the case in particular to your statements.
