I tried to buy a 2002 Acura MDX with the VIN # 2HNYD18602H534825 off of www.autotrader.com. The "seller" contacted me said that I would only have to pay $2,900 for the vehicle and she would ship it from Colorado to me in Michigan of her own expense through Lufthansa Cargo. She told me I had to pay the shipping company, they would hold the money, once I received the vehicle, I had 5 days or 100 miles to decide whether I wanted it or not, and if I did, the money would be released to the seller. I received an email from the who I thought at the time was the real Lufthansa Cargo telling me to send my money Western Union to their agent Mr. Harry Pilet of New York, NY 10014 and email the receipt to them or fax it to 713-583-8130. I was a little suspicious so I looked up the Lufthansa Cargo company online to see if they were real. They were legit so I sent the money to them and sent the email. I got the email saying they received the payment and the vehicle would arrive on Friday Sep. 11th after 6pm. I had to go out of town and asked if they could send the car on Monday. They told me No, but I could have someone else sign for me if I send them a scanned copy of my and the persons drivers license who would be signing for the car. I sent mine and my co-worker who said he would sign for it. The car did not arrive and then I was told it would arrive the next day at 11am. I spoke with Ryan on the phone Saturday to find out that the vehicle had still not arrived. I then spoke with one of the fake Lufthansa Reps online via webchat and the told me it did not arrive because I did not pay $1,400 for insurance, and I had to pay it in order for the vehicle to be sent. On Monday when I returned I could not get in contact with "the company" so I decided to look up the main 800 number on the Lufthansa website. I called and spoke with a customer service representative. She is the one who identified my transaction as being a fraud. She told me that their company's reference numbers started with 020 and that  their company does not ship inside the U.S.She told me that whoever these people are, they have impersonated their company a lot lately. She then took the information and sent it to her security department.
