Misleading scam, Capital Choice Consumer Credit
I've already read a lot of the posts on this company and mine is not much different. As stupid as I am, I received this notice in the mail that I was approved for a $5000 credit limit. I don't have the best credit and when it said that the first year was 0% interest I thought I could consolidate the rest of my credit cards onto this one.
I read the certificate about 30 times over looking for the smallest descrepency and it wasn't until after the card arrived that I realized what had happened. I sent in my $39.00 and waited. After about 5 weeks I finally received my card, and to my surprise, it was not a visa, mastercard, etc. like I was expecting.
It was a card for their catalog shopping. Of course I looked at the certificate they sent me again, and sure enough it doesn't say it is a major credit card, I just assumed. The problem is that it also doesn't say this card will only be good for their catalog and I think that is dishonest and misleading. Bills aren't cheap, and while $39.00 isn't a lot of money, I could still be using it for a lot of other things.
Oh, and one other thing, this so called, $5000 credit limit isn't really even a $5000 credit limit. If you wish to make a purchase of (I believe) $200 or more, then you have to give them a deposit. Sounds to me like a credit card to their catalog with a $200 credit limit.
