RUSTING MITSUBISHI RUBBISH with many other problems.

Our new Mitsubishi Galant 2001 vehicle started rusting in less than two months at the end of summer before any bad weather set in.

GALANT and ECLIPSE model years 2000-2003 that I checked with their owners consent and in their presence had similar and even worse rusting problems.

The vehicle was taken back to the factory and they had it for 42 days, and it was sent back a mess. Rust repairs (coverup) were showing rust again in less than two month and during the summer.

2004 models seems to be built the same and prone for the same rusting problems

In viewing the 2004 Galant, their construction methods of many spotwelded pieces in the engine compartment and the strut supports looks the same as the one that was rusting in the 2000 to 2003 model years.

The autoshow vehicle that I was able to inspect had a sticky spray on the painted surfaces of the engine compartment. Yet in one spotwelded area it had the brownish discoloration normally associated with rust.

Are all new Mitsubishi's now coated with this sticky stuff or was this done to protect the show vehicle from revealing their faulty manufacturing????

The amount of light entering the engine compartment was limited and not widespread enough to clearly see the other spotwelded joints.
