In March 2001, I bought an 01 Galant from Metro Mitsubishi here in San Antonio. I was placed on the Diamond Advantage Plan, like most others here. I was never told about the balloon payment and all the other "kicks and giggles" (gap insurance that never works, mileage limits, etc.)that came with signing this contract; actually, the contract was read to me, and the Sales Manager told me after each paragraph, "what this means is...". VERY misleading and deceiving.

I was also told that cause I had only been on my job for 5 months and even though I had the income to carry a 500.00 payment, I still needed a co-signer to increase my stability. They then LIED to my co-signer and told them that under the Diamond Advantage Plan, the co-signer only acts as a stability factor, and that my agreement with Mitsu would not appear on their credit report. And that in six months to a year I could refinance with Mitsu and get a lower note and interest rate. To this day, I have never gotten a response on my refinance request.

Recently, after realizing that Mitsu had jipped me (the ever precious call about that balloon payment coming up), I went out to try and find another car, only to have people not want to deal with me and a 01 Galant that Mitsu advises everyone I owe 12000 on even though I owe 6900- apparently, in the Plan, there is a clause that if you try to trade in with another company, you can be charged a penalty, depending on how Mitsubishi feels that day.

Figuring that the only person at this point that would probably take the car back at this point would be the ones that sold it to me, I went back to the original dealer, which had changed its name to Lone Star Mitsubishi. I was told that Metro had went out of business because of stories of unethical practices like the one I had and that they would work hard to change my mind about them. I first off told them that I DIDNOT want another Mitsubishi, I'd put more money into fixing the one I had than it was worth, and it still looked and ran like crap. I looked at a used 05 Altima that had (gasp!) 50,000 mi on it.

I had done my homework on this vehicle before I got there and knew Blue Book Value, because of paint issues, mileage, etc. the car was only worth about 14090. So imagine my surprise when they are trying to sell me this car for near 19000 with payments at around 500.00 for SIX YEARS! THe salesguy Ross kept trying to push it like it was the deal of the century cause they were going to pay off what I owed on the currnet car and that I was getting a newer better car at around what I was paying now. True, if youre just plain nuts. You can buy a NEW Altima for 19000.00, nicely equipped with no miles on it. Plus, I only have 15 more months to deal with these a-holes, not 72! When I said No-thank you, I was then given the go to hell treatment of being tossed back my driver's license and having everyone walk away from me.

I DON'T CARE HOW MAY TIMES A RABID DOG CHANGES IT NAME, IT'S STILL THE SAME DOG!! NEVER TRUST ANYTHING THAT HAS THE NAME MITSUBISHI IN IT!
