At a time when most of the Nation is strongly supporting those of us who serve; it seems that Mitsubishi wants only our hard earned money and could care less about supporting the troops!!

I was reassigned to Germany earlier this year and had to request an authorization letter from MMCA to ship my 2003 Montero Sport. It took them over a month to fax me a letter and then there was a clause in there that stated that by shipping the vehicle overseas I was voiding my warranty.

HELLO.............. Where's the support for those of us serving our country???????????????
HELLO.............. Germany is NOT a third world country - they DO actually have Mitsubishi dealerships here where I could have fulfilled my contractual obligations by having a Mitsubishi technician perform the maintenance etc.

Needless to say - I'll certainly thing twice about buying another vehicle from them and am quick to inform any potential buyers who are affiliated with the Military NOT to buy one!

I'm also a soldier staioned overseas in Germany. I have the same problem. I took my Eclipse in for service and to troubleshoot a check engine light at a Mitsusbishi Dealership. They serviced my car but could not fix the light. The dealer even tried to contact Mitsusbishi Motors but they told him he's not authorized to repair American Spec Mitsusbishi Cars. I then tried to contact Mitsusbishi Motors myself and explained that I had a check engine light. They told me that since the car was out of the U.S that it cannot be repaired and any warranty repair will not be covered. I explaine to them that I was a U.S servicemember but they said it didn't matter that is their policy. All other car makers still cover vehicle owners overseas but not Mitsusbishi. It's a crying shame that this is the support we get for serving our country and protecting the freedom of the American people. If your in the military, Buyer beware

Sounds Like A Lease

Don't know for sure, but this sounds like a lease or a lease to purchase deal. If it isn't please post so we'll know. I'll bet most vehicle leases have a similar clause in them. Might have something to do with being outside the country and out of their control. Good info for anyone that might PCS during their lease term. Good luck.
