My March VISA bill showed up with a charge of $99.95 dated March 3 and attributed to "MKS*Simple Escapes2" - an outfit I never heard of. When my wife called to inquire about it they said we ordered "Great Escapes" (whatewver the hell that is) from the internet on February 28. Baloney!

Apparently they were going to "save us money." They girl on the phone did not want to cancel our "order" and wanted us just to "try it." Eventually, after our repeated demands, they said our order would be canceled and it would not show up on next months' VISA bill.

The VISA bill listed a toll free number (888-404-5629) for these scammers and indicated they were located in Connecticut. I wonder how many poor victims just go ahead and pay these crooks.

They apparently operate under several similar sounding names. I noticed a similar name and scam listed on this site.
