A $99.95 charge appeared on my checking account that no family member knew about. After several days, the bank identified the vender as MKS SIMPLE ESCAPES2. We complained to our bank that this charge was NOT AUTHORIZED. The bank contacted the vender on our behalf and let my wife speak with them. Our bank had said they could not remove the charge. The vender told my wife they would remove the charge and about a week later did so..

My wife was told that I ordered a discounting service through AOL and after the free trial period we were being billed through our service provider (AOL) for the fee.

I found out that the charge was made to my young daughters AOL email account (Parental Controls were set at Young Teenager & purchases were not authorized) because a confirmation email was sent to my daughters email address BUT addressed to my first name.

I contacted AOL Billing and was told to contact AOL Shop Direct by telephone about my order. Shop Direct told me that SIMPLE ESCAPES2 was an associated vender but the charge was placed online by me. Neither AOL contacts are setup to handle a unauthorized charge dispute, I was told to contact AOL technical services about the Parental Controls problem.
