MNC Publications ripoff Tried to invoice us for a product that we did not order. Then tried to invoice us for this unknown product. Champlain New York
Last week on or about 2-5-04 we received a package that came from an unknown sender. It was a computer disk. We did not nor will not load unknown disk into our computers.
Today we received a bill for "services that we have been enjoying for a month". I called the person on the fax- Patrick Wells. When the phone was answered, it was for Corporate office, not for MNC Publications. I asked to speak to Mr. Wells, they wanted my invoice number, I would not give it to them, I had told her who I was and that I needed to speak to Patrick Wells on an invoice for services that we did not order. (there was no Po# or person of reference).
When they finally connected me to him, he also asked for the invoice number. I told him that he could refer to the fax time of 11:30am when he faxed the "Past Due Invoice" notice to me. I told him that he was scamming people. He hung up.
I will keep this information for any future references and I have notified my Corporate offices of the scam. I worry that the disk may have a virus on it and if loaded could cause even greater problems then false billing practices.
