MNI Credit Report Service The Free Trial Period is a Ripoff - I Am Being Billed Continuously and I Had to Cancel My Debit Card Canoga California
I applied for a free 30 day trial through Experian.Com, in which I agreed to the monthly monitoring. I, not only had difficulty in accessing the site after the initial 4 days (must access within 4 days), but could not access the site after that first trial. I enrolled on 10/8/07 and called to cancel on 11/7/07. When I explained that I had not been able to access the report since subscribing, Wendy from MNI advised that she would extend the trial period to 12/7/07. However, I never accessed the site.
I was told yesterday by Billy, Cassandra and Jen, that the sight had not been accessed by me since 11/07 and that they, themselves, with use of my SS#, could not access it either. After being transfered to customer service for a credit of $23.90 and holding on for almost 2 hours (I was determined but gave up), I called my bank and cancelled by Visa. I called them at 9:47 AM and held until 10:30 for the first rep. The other two reps were at least 2 and 1/2 hours and still, I hung up.
I hope that the Attorney General of CA is looking into this company's deceitful policies and practices. I can get a free credit report at least once a year by law. I just wanted to rebut some items in my report and I thought I could be informed of any changes. I was never notified of ANY CHANGES IN MY CREDIT REPORT, NOT EVEN THOSE THAT I SUBMITTED.
I want my $23.90 credit from them as well. I was charged on 12/9/07 and 1/9/08. Would I pay for something I don't use for 3 months? I think not. I am on disability and trying to repair my credit!!. Please, do not sign up for this program. It is a farce. Just elect to get your free credit report once a year or pay if you prefer it more than once per year. Nobody wants to steal my credit anyway. If they do, good luck!
