Model Talent Development New Faces Development Not refunding my deposit, scam artisits, Internet
We first took our daughter to Model Talent Development in Oct, 2012 with a recommendation from a family member so we were under the assumption that they were a reputable company. When we got there, we waited for a while and then met with a gentleman by the name of Tim Scott. He was a very quick talker and made us all very excited. He said my daughter would definitely get work, she had the look. He then took out a big binder with pictures of children who made it in the business through their company.
He said we should set up a photo shoot as soon as possible and then showed us the prices, which ranged from hundreds to thousands of dollars. He said that if we left a large deposit that day that he could give us a great deal and take half off the price. We wound up leaving a small deposit (thankfully) of $300.00 on our credit/debit card. We had a photo shoot set up for that following week.
When we went home, we did some research on the internet and knew that they were a scam company and we changed our minds about the photo shoot. According to the contract they had us sign, if we wanted to cancel , we had to do so in writing, certified mail/return receipt postdated within 3 days. We did exactly that. Everything they wanted us to do, we did and we kept copies of EVERYTHING. That was back in October, 2012 and we still have not gotten our deposit back from them. We also cannot get them on the phone, or get any phone calls returned back.
They also changed locations since then which proves even more that they are con artists. If you are thinking of doing business with this company, PLEASE DO NOT! They are total ripoffs and we are just thankful that they didn't get us for thousands of dollars. However, we are still trying to get our deposit back through other methods. I hope this helps everyone who is thinking of meeting with them, do not waste your time!
