Hello fellow victims! I recently went down to visit a friend in Ft. Myers , FL and my a/c was not working in my truck. I tried to get it repaired before I left for the 700 mile trip but didn't make it in time. I decided to just have it done down there.

This was my first mistake because they knew I was from out of town.

I called around and found the shop mentioned and they said they'd take me right in and sounded really nice . This is why they get women to answer the phones.
They took the truck into the shop and worked on it for about a half hour and repaired the hose , which they did a good job on.

They pulled a vacuum and charged it and it got cold . I specifically asked them if it was holding a vacuum and they said yes. They charged me $200 and I left feeling happy that it was working

The problem is that it was blowing hot air by the time I got back to my friends house about ten minutes away . I called them and spoke to the guy who owns the place named Ken. Well, now they weren't so friendly anymore . He proceeded to tell me that my system had been changed around and had serious problems and that he was done looking at it. He then hung up on me.

Now, if the system had so many problems, then why didn't he tell me this to begin with? I can think of one little reason - he hadn't separated me from my money yet ! If Ken were honest, he would've just told me that he didn't want to tangle with my a/c system, right? If he had repaired the hose and then told me he still couldn't have fixed it I would've understood and gladly paid him for what he had done.

Instead, he told me the system was holding a vacuum and charged it up knowing it wouldn't last an hour. This is where I had them in a bald faced lie.

I was livid, needless to say and immediately called my bank to start a dispute file . Fortunately I had paid with my check card. I had to jump through the hoops and file several reports with my bank (Regions) but I eventually got most of my money back. I deducted the cost of repairing the hose and I think this went in my favor as it showed that I was honest.

I got $167 back.

I then went out to my truck with some soapy water and found the leak myself without any expensive equipment! There was no way this system was going to work. I later had the system repaired locally.

STAY AWAY FROM MODERN AUTO AIR FT. Myers, Fl!!!!!
