Modern Gas south jersey prices are gouged for old customers by 1-2 dollars. ran out of propane was charged 425.00. 14 days later out of propane again would not come and fill unless we paid 650.00 to include emergency call. PROPANE COMPANY barnegat, New Jersey
Have used Modern Gas for many years. I found out through a disgruntled worker from Modern Gas prices vary depending on what town you live in. New customers are low balled with price and customers that have been with them awhile theiir prices are higher. My tank became empty had a delivery paid $425.00. 14 days later I am out again. Connie who is the rude receptionist, not owner, decided that my family would do without heat for the night unless we paid 625.00 because it was an emergency visit.
The next day we called another company and they found a large whole in our tank. We were told by Modern Gas a sniff test was done, which is the law. It was not. The next day we called another company and a very large hole was discovered. This hole took months to form and we had been losing propane for months. They also put my family in DANGER. They now have the audacity to send another bill stating the 425.00 was not the entire cost and we owe them more money.
DO NOT USE MODERN GAS even their employees are leaving the company because of the new owners and they way they do business. They have been reported to the BBB and also the County office for consumer safety. Very dishonest company. If you are in South Jersey and are using them you can save hundreds of dollars to go to another company the are gouging prices and they have been doing it for a long while. Also the customers in Pleasantville Nj you are paying even more than we did from the Barnegat office they charge different areas different prices.
