This company took $35 from me, promising gift bags in return. The contents that were promised were never sent out. I received a manilla envelope with expired cream, a sample of disinfecting cleaner sheet and a diaper. When questioned why this is what was sent, I received an email stating that there was a problem at their distribution center and the wrong things were sent. It stated that I will receive another box in the mall shortly with the correct gift box contents. I never received that box.

Communication with this company has gone unanswered. I filed a complaint with the BBB and their rebuttal was that no such thing was promised. I copied and pasted the exact email they sent.

Modern Mom has horrible business ethics. They saw an opportunity to make quick money and they succeeded in dooping hundreds of moms by giving empty promises. They've never once apologized to the hundreds of moms, instead they shift blame.

The founder of this company is Lolita Carrico, a mother herself. She and her husband Chris, are teaching their children awful work ethics, awful customer service skills and awful people skills.

Modern Moms Club, which offers support groups across the country for women to meet for playgroups, moms only events and family events, occasionally sends our valued members gifts from our partners and sponsors. Around Mother's Day of 2005, these gifts were discovered by non-members and posted on various "bargain and freebie" message boards on the Internet as an affordable "deal." We do not advertise our gifts in any way nor consider the gifts which are based on limited supply from sponsors the purpose for membership, however due to such postings we had an overnight increase in membership by those who viewed Modern Moms Club as a free gift club. While many did receive and continue to receive the gifts our generous sponsors provide based on supply, we are working through this issue to manage expectations and come to a quick, satisfying resolution with those members who are not interested in participating in Modern Moms Club events and chapters.

Despite our Terms and Conditions of membership which state that membership is non-refundable, we have provided refunds to those who are not interested in participating in our events and chapters or misunderstood Modern Moms Club and are working with those that are interested in launching regional groups in their areas.
