Complaint Review: Modern Pest Services

Modern Pest Services paid them for a service that did not work and was given different information from the 13 people I spoke with! Manchester, New Hampshire

This company is TERRIBLE!! I bought a house a year ago and it had bedbugs. I called Modern Pest Services to treat the house. They required an initial payment of $399 and a monthly payment of $41 after that. At the first treatment I was told my house should be bed bug free. This was not the case. I called back and had another treatment scheduled. When the tech looked at the paperwork from the previous treatment he told me he does not believe we had bed bugs but when he did the inspection he found them. I was told once again that I would be bed bug free and not long after the treatment I found them AGAIN!! I called and spoke with a manger who told me one treatment does not fix the problem and that I would need multiple treatments and followups which I was never told about. It is not a year later and I STILL HAVE BED BUGS! The first tech that came said he went through training about 15 years ago and they showed him a picture of a bed bug and said we are moving on because you will never see one these. Given that that was the only training he had on bed bugs he could not have known what he was doing!

It is apparent that no one at the company knows what they are doing because I was told by one person I should have seen dead bed bugs because the treatment kills them and from another I was told the treatment only stops them from reproducing. I stopped paying them and fought with them until the end. They cancelled my agreement and refunded the most of the money I had paid. I stopped payment to my credit card and started paying with a money order. The money order payments that I sent them I did not get back because they claimed to have no record of them. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! They are poorly trained, have horrible customer service, and their services DO NOT WORK!

This response is well past due, but I did want to acknowledge it and apologize for the extremely negative experience you had with us. In 2015, Modern will be celebrating 70 years in the pest control business. We pride ourselves in providing fast, effective pest control solutions and "best in class" service by highly trained service professionals. Unfortunately, I can see that we missed the mark on many levels with your bed bug issue. It's a very challenging one to resolve, but we have had great success with countless other clients. In fact, we've established a special team dedicated soley to bed bug treatments and they bring a great deal of knowledge and experience to the table. 
 
Again, I'm very sorry for the trouble and inconvenience you experienced with us.
