Over the past several years; I had purchased 4 vehicles from Mohawk Auto Center/JSAC.  The first one an Intrepid (known for engine issues) I had SEVERAL occasions in which Mohawk had to replace the engine; I had an AMAZING sales person with each car I had bought from the dealer and he was ALWAYS there to ensure my happiness; after the 3rd engine; he had told me to bring the car in and they would trade me for a 2nd one for what I owed on the previous.  It was a good deal, I drove the car with no issues and owned it several years.  So with my first two experiences I was extremely pleased even with the issues of the first.  So I went back to purchase another vehicle for my now ex; the car was great we owned it for quite a while again, with no serious issues, in fact, I had sold it to a friend of mine because my ex was tired of it...

It still runs amazing... Well; on this final vehicle I purchased; I began to run into some issues with the staff in the finance dept.  I ran into serious health issues and it became near impossible for me to get to Sch'dy every week to make my payment and the card I had on file wasn't something that allowed direct payments off of (i had no clue) BUT, I recieved a call from the finance manager, I was just 2 weeks behind on that day never missing a payment prior to those 2 weeks (over a year into my loan).  I spoke with her (the repo dept/credit manager) at great length and tried to explain that I had no way to get in due to over medication and I did not feel comfortable driving in under the influence; but I would be sure to be in the next morning (ex was going to bring me).

I was told in a DEMEANING voice that if I did not have my A@@ in there today to make the payment, I wouldn't have nothing to worry about.  I had also been verbally assulted by this person with some SERIOUS obsenities one after another.  SO; I drove myself down (under the influence of medication) to make my payments + an additional one just in case.  I asked to speak with this person face to face and she was "On break".  Unhappy with that reply; I decided to go speak with my sales rep; again an amazing guy.  We had a LONG conversation about the issues at hand and he had recommended that I speak with the owners of the dealer; at that point the person that was the issue walked onto the dealership floor in a very loud voice and started to verbally assult me IN PERSON in front of the sales staff as well as other customers.

We had a slight confrontation for about 30 mins there, I started to have a panic attack and had no choice but to leave or risk getting arrested because of her.  I did ultimately appologize for my part in the arguement with her; however, she didn't seem to receptive to the appology.  I did not feel that the issue at hand was resolved, so I did in fact contact the owners as well as an attorney (who said I had a case) and I was ordered by both the owners and the owners lawyers to cease and decist and if I didn't they would have me "by the balls".  I am and have since been unhappy with the dealer since; and myself personally will probably avoid the dealer for my future purchases which really sucks; because I DID like the dealership, my customer sales rep; as well as the selection of cars; and the previous good experiences.  I feel that I was betrayed by the owners, the manager (who has since been "retired"), etc.

I felt my sexual orientation played a HUGE role in how I was treated in the last deal; due to the fact that my now ex-was listed as my husband (he co-signed on this vehicle); which previous deals did not include him on any of my sales contracts.  I feel like I was rolled over by "BIG business" in which their legal team was larger than what I could afford to have defended. Its really sad because I am almost 100% positive it was the real issue.  But is what it is...  Would I reccomend the dealer?!? Yes; I would and STILL DO...  Would I personally buy another from them?!? NO! Due to the fact I feel like there was some SERIOUS predjudices held against me due to my sexual orientation... Doubt anyone could or would be willing to do anything about it; and I can't afford it anyway; SO this is just venting I guess...
