I hired Mohawk to pack and move me. Everything appeared to be fine, until two weeks after the move when I started getting calls from the security division of some of my credit cards. I had a small drawer in my kitchen where I stored a few cards that I seldom used, and forgot about them when I was preparing my home for the move.

The packers found them, and ran up $1200 worth of gasoline charges in a couple weeks. The company sent me an itemized list of the locations and amounts, so I could verify that they weren't my charges (I had not used the card in over a year), and the locations were all fairly near Mohawk's location, and many miles from where I now live.

I called Mohawk, and the man I talked to offered to call me back and give me the names of who worked at my house, so that *I* could chase down video surveillance tapes! Of course, he never called back - they don't care.

I won't be liable, and the amount is too small for the credit card company to pursue, so the thieves made more money on gas than they did from Mohawk. Silly me, I gave the packers my stereo, several pieces of furniture, fed them lunch on both ends of the trip, and tipped them.
