Complaint Review: Monaco Financial Services And Consultants

I received a letter in the mail stating "we are pleased to inform you through this letter that our network shows you as the lucky winner of an unclaimed prize money in the amount of $57,000.00 and to contact Jessica Johnson before October 31, 2008. Anyway, I called and spoke with someone named Jim Morris (which is probably not his real name) and asked about this so-call prize money being that I didn't recall applying online for anything or even signing up. I even asked if this was a scam being that I'm a single mother of three kids. Jim said no and to go ahead and deposit the check, then call him back once the check was cleared in order for him to send me via regular mail the difference in prize money.

Without thinking of it being a scam, or even researching this so-call company on the internet, I went ahead and deposited the check which in turn my bank has contacted me letting me know the check is counterfeit and my account is overdrawn $900.00.

I've been calling the following phone number all day 1-514-812-3214 and to no avail.
Is there anything that anyone can do to assist me and all the other folks out there from this horrific scam?
