Complaint Review: Monahan Chiropractic Clinic

I retained a lawyer in November 2007, after getting into a car accident that resulted in some neck and back pain, amongst other things. My doctor recommended I see a chiropractor, and my lawyer recommended Monahan Chiropractic Clinic.

The actual chiropractor (who has now left the company) was very good, assertive to my issues, etc. However, the office staff has never seemed to know what they were doing. They have several locations and I went back and forth between two - but my main involvement has been with their office on Anastasia Island.

In May I was scheduled to go in for a narrative (basically a prognosis of to what extent your injuries will affect you, etc). I was told to go to their Anastasia Island office and even asked twice to confirm (I was leery because up until that point I had going to their other office). When I arrived, they were baffled as to why I was there and made me go redo all of my "new patient" paperwork again because they couldn't find it. Needless to say, my appointment started an hour later than what was scheduled.

Upon completion, the chiropractor told me that he was a little behind on paperwork and it would take about a week for him to write it up. I was perfectly okay with that.

A month goes by and I hear nothing (they were going to mail me a copy). I call only to find out that absolutely nothing has been done with it. They blamed it on a girl in the office saying that she "dropped the ball on a lot of things" and no longer worked for the company because of it. I was frustrated but understood these things can happen, and I was assured they would get right on it.

I wait a few more weeks and call again. This time I am told that the chiropractor who handled me had left the company. I express my frustration over the time it has taken for something that should have taken a week. They tell me that they will have the doctor that comes to their location to help get right on it. In fact, he was even going to take it home and work on it.

It has now been OVER three months since I went in and I still have nothing! What should have taken a week (and that was with him being behind) has now taken three months... and we're still counting!

On top of this, I have heard from multiple people in town that they can never get their billing straight - that they'd pay the day they went in and two weeks the office would call demanding payment.

My experience has been horrible. Their service as a chiropractor may be good, but the service their help around the office completely overshadows it. Do your research and look around at other people in the area before going in!
