I purchased the Money Resource Network at a Stores Online seminar for $10. I was hesitant but i was assured several times that even if I decided to cancel after the 21-day free trial, my $10 would be credited to my 'cash back' account so I could not lose. After I signed on and read the terms I found out that 1) I could not get my $10 back until I had accumulated a minimum of $50 in my 'cash back' account. In other words, I had to spend enough money through the site to quality for another $40. Since most stores offer a max of about 5% cash back, I figured I would need to buy $800 worth of merchandise to get my $40 cash back. I also found out that I could only get my money back if I was an 'active' member. To me, this means that not only would I have to spend a bunch of money just to get my initial $10 back (plus the other $40), but I would have to do this within the 21-day trial period. Today is the 15th day after my initial purchase. I just went to the website to see how I needed to cancel this account and I see that it is with a 7-day written notice. I sent an email immediately, but since I assume they will argue that is not 'written', I will also put a 'real' letter in the mail tomorrow. I assume again that they will say that was not within the time frame and they will charge my credit card. At that point, I will fight it with the credit card company. My big gripe here is that I was sold this deceptively.
