I applied on line for a work at home business. Upon researching the company located these rip off reports. Company is now called EHomes. I was able to locate information on both Todd & Randy Webster, whom called me to discuss their business further. I do have their DVD and booklet in my possession. I fear that they will find someone in NC to open up this business to only again rip off more consumers. I do have a phone number for the contact person should any one wish to have it. Federal Express envelope appears to have come from TX.

It's all in the spelling...One word or Two..

I worked for a "Money Tree" Branch in 1996. They were thieves as well and that is why I quit.

I think the difference is in the spelling of the name. The one I worked at was 2 words. I also believe that these are independently owned franchises.

Juan, what exactly did that $300 represent? We used to get credit report fee and appraisal fee up front, and back then it was $325. It was clearly identified as non refundable.

There was no application fee or advance fee on the loan itself.

However, it was a shady operation and I only lasted 4 months. I can't rip people off and put them in a worse situation with a new loan.

You might want to check with the banking commission there in TX to get some info on them and what is allowed as far as advance fees go.

I think TX only allows actual cost of credit reports to be charged as an up front cost.
