I am an alarm dealer in Indiana. We signed up to be a Monitronics dealer back in February of this year. From day one we have had problems with this company.

They have lost customers credit reports and tell us if we tell the customer they will not buy the accounts. I believe that this practice is unethical and unprofessional. The company has an obligation to let the customers know that they have lost their information so the customer can take the necessary precautions to safeguard their credit and other personal information. Monitronics, however, believes that this matter should be between the dealer and Monitronics.

On another occassion, we have sent information in through their Electronic Subscriber Information Form to have a customers account activated for monitoring service and nothing was done for over two weeks! This customer was under the impression that his premises were monitored - and for two whole weeks it was not... Yet Monitronics charges him for that.

Monitronics sells false lead information to collect money from their dealers. Their credit requirements state that the customers must have a credit score of 600 or above or they cannot purchase the account - Yet they will charge you $35 for a lead that has a 400 credit score. Oh - and you have to purchase the credit reports. Other ways they use this same system to get you is by giving you leads that aren't homeowners - yet you are still obligated to pay them for the leads.

Tiffany Tribble is one of the reps in the leads generation department. A real scum bag too - She is the one that should credit the leads - Yet doesn't.

Jonathan Black was our account manager - another moron. This guy is the biggest sissy ever - afraid to get on the phone when you have a problem because he knows that he might get yelled at.

If you are a potential dealer - BEWARE! Check out the other programs from Security Networks or ADT, or even Brinks. You would be better off going with one of those programs.

If you are a potential customer - CHOOSE ANOTHER COMPANY! Monitronics is well known for failing to cancel a customer at a customers request when their contract expires. Check out the other reports on this company on this site as well as the Better Business Bureau.

Monitronics also is known for bringing on shady dealers that don't do a proper installation.

I think everyone should have an alarm system. When choosing a provider - Ask if they are a dealer that sells their accounts to a national monitoring service - If they answer yes - ask them who the central station is - If they respond "Monitronics" - Tell them to leave your home or business and NEVER come back.

Don't let this company screw you over like they have done thousands of other customers and alarm dealers.
